We have been hearing the gospel since childhood, which truly means Jesus is the only saviour from our sins, and he’s coming again soon.
Here, understanding the concept of salvation plays a major role in believing in the saviour.
Jesus came to redeem us from the slavery of original sin, which has a generational curse on us, and also to save us from the bondage of sin, which is self committed. This broad plan of God gives us eternal glory through Jesus. But most people won’t accept the concept of original sin and the concept of Jesus’s blood washing out that. Few people realise that Jesus’ blood, which was shed many years ago, is still active today.
Yes, at the moment wherein someone accepts the gospel and believes in Jesus as their saviour, the blood of Jesus will wash away their sins and redeem them from the curse.
And few of us think that if Adam hadn’t committed sin, then we wouldn’t have to bear the consequences.
Apparently, that’s not acceptable. While understanding the concept of salvation, we should understand the heart of God who is giving this free gift through his abundance of grace.
Let’s go for a quick ride into the scriptures.
The Bible explicitly mentions the disobedience of Adam (ORIGINAL SIN) and how the curse came on him (Genesis 3). But that doesn’t mean that because of Adam, only sin entered into mankind. God has clarified this misconception in further chapters (Genesis 6:5). The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The nature of man while making decisions may leads to sin, which has been stated explicitly. God has confirmed that (Genesis 6: 6) man’s nature is corrupt and even sad for creating man. “The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.”
So, the point to understand is that Adam is not a person who committed sin; it’s a discernment of man that commits sin.1 John 3:4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. While evaluating this, we should not conclude the aspect of original sin was on either Adam or the rest of mankind, and we should not boast in ourselves that if I was in the place of Adam, I wouldn’t have committed the same sin.. At the same time, we should not say that God has put sin in the nature of man because God has given free will and discernment to act according to the situations. But, we chose the wrong direction due to our wrong desires (James 1:14-15). But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully grown, brings forth death”.
From the point of Adam, sin entered the earth but was not counted till the LAW arrived (Romans 5:13). “To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law.”
The point is that grace has always existed, from Adam to the last man on the earth. That’s the reason our gracious God has given law and offerings to atone for sins that were committed by people. But, while dealing with original sin, God has cleared the way through Jesus (Romans 5:15-16). “But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin”.
He sent his only son to redeem us from that original sin as well as the sins of man (Romans 6:10). “The death he died, he died to sin once and for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.”
The Bible expressly states
Jesus is the only way to reach God (John 14:6). Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. “
From one man, sin entered, and through one man, redemption will occur. That was Jesus, who has become a propitiation before God in our place, wherein we have peace with God (Romans 5:1). Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
God has seen yours and my sin in Adam, as it was our human nature to disobey. So, he sent his only son, Jesus, and redeemed you and me by washing us in the blood of Jesus.
So, don’t be under the misconception that we’re bearing a generational curse in which we’re not a part of disobedience.
Please acknowledge your sinful nature as a man and come to Jesus.
He will save us, irrespective of time and circumstances.
(Hebrews 13:8)”Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
